Overview

After factors, vectors and scores are set up in Risk Settings, scores can be calculated for each individual risk. When all those steps are complete, the Risk Heatmap will become populated with data to help with risk analysis and mitigation.

TIP

To review the suggested workflow for risks, please see Risk Workflows.

Creating a Risk

To create a new risk from the Risk Heatmap home page, complete the following steps:

  1. Click New in the top left of the navigation.

  2. Scroll down to select Risk.
  3. The New Risk page displays.
  4. Complete the information for the new risk and click Save. Scoring cannot be calculated prior to saving.

Scoring a Single Risk

On a saved risk, complete the following steps:

  1. Click the Risk Scoring tab. A risk is the only object that has this tab.
  2. Make selections and click Calculate. This is recommended even when opening an existing risk. If there were any changes made to the risk settings, clicking Calculate updates the risk score.

Bulk Scoring Risks

If you imported Risk objects with changed Factor values, changed the Factor values on the System of Record page, or just selected the factors on the Risk Scoring tab without calculating, you need t score the objects to have accurate and up-to-date data.

To bulk score risk objects:

  1. Select the checkboxes of the risks that you want to (re)calculate on the System of Record page
  2. Click the Calculate Scores button on the top of the list
  3. Confirm the calculation

A modal with the results will show up. The modal will list out the:

  • Fully Calculated Risk Objects (all of the Risk Scores have been successfully calculated)
  • Partially Calculated Risk Objects (at least one Risk Score couldn't be calculated)
  • Unscored Risk Objects (no Risk Scores were calculated)

An unsuccessful calculation can occur if the factors have not been selected, or incorrectly entered on the imported CSV.

Clicking on a Risk object will open a new tab with the Single Risk Object page.

Finding Risks by Name

The Risk Heatmap provides valuable information for your risk management program, but it may prove to be challenging to find a risk by name. As with all objects, risks have a module under the System of Record that provides an easy way to filter, mass update, or export risks.

To find a risk by name, complete the following steps:

  1. Click System of Record | Risks under the Risks heading.

  2. The Risks home page displays.
