Overview


The Risk Heatmap provides a graphical display of the risks impacting your organization. It is fully customizable and can be filtered to display any type of risk.

IMPORTANT

Risk items in ZenGRC have a different set of permissions than other objects. To review those permissions and how they impact user access, please see Role-Based Permissions for Risk.

Heatmap Overview


Each cube in the grid displays the number of risks associated with the risk value the cube represents.

The size of the Heatmap changes depending on the chosen vectors and their threshold ranges. 

  • Number of Ranges = Number of Boxes

Filtering the Heatmap View


The Risk Heatmap can be filtered to show risks associated with an individual selection.

To filter the heatmap, complete the following steps:

  1. In the Type dropdown box, select an option.



  2. To further refine the results, select an object in the Object dropdown. The page displays with the number of risks populating each cube.



    TIP

    The highest-rated risk cube for the filter selections is highlighted with its risks displayed to the right as links for easy access.

  3. To view the risks associated with any cube in the quadrant, click the cube.



  4. The page refreshes with the selected cube highlighted and its risks displayed to the right.



  5. Click a risk to open the Risk Details page.

Finding Risks by Risk Category


To find risks according to the risk category in which they fall, complete the following steps:

  1. On the Risk Heatmap page, find the risk category on the grid.

    TIP

    In the screenshot below, the mouse is hovering over the category that ranks Moderate for the Impact and Low for the Likelihood.

  2. Click the category. The page refreshes with linked risks in that category displaying in the right-hand column.



  3. Click a risk to open the Risk Details page.

Editing a Risk


To edit a risk accessed from the Risk Heatmap home page, complete the following steps:

  1. Click a linked risk.



  2. The Risk Details page displays.
