Managing the Risk Heatmap

Overview

The Risk Heatmap provides a graphical display of the risks impacting your organization. It it fully customizable and can be filtered to display any type of risk.

Creating a Risk

To create a new risk from the Risk Heatmap home page, complete the following steps:

1. Click New in the top left of the navigation.
   
   
   
   
2. Scroll down to select Risk.
3. The New Risk page displays.

Finding Risks by Name

To find a risk by name, complete the following steps:

1. Click System of Record | Risks under the Risks/Threats heading. 
   
    
   
   
2. The Risks home page displays.
   
   
   
   

3. Click a linked risk to open the Details page.
   
   

   TIP

   This Details page, differs slightly from the Risk Info page accessed from the Risk Heatmap. They display the same information, but in a different format with different editing options.

Finding Risks by Risk Category

To find risks according to the risk category in which they fall, complete the following steps:

1. On the Risk Heatmap home page, find the risk category on the grid.
   
   

   TIP

   In the screenshot below, the mouse is hovering over the category that ranks Moderate for the Impact and Low for the Likelihood.

   
   
   
   

2. Click the category. The page refreshes with linked risks in that category displaying in the right-hand column.
   
   
   
   
3. Click a risk to open the Risk Infopage

Filtering the Heatmap View

The risk heatmap can be filtered to show risks associated with an individual selection. Each cube in the grid displays the number of risks associated with the risk value the cube represents.

To filter the heatmap, complete the following steps:

1. In the Type dropdown box, select an option.
   
   
   
   

2. To further refine the results, select an object in the Object dropdown. The page displays with the number of risks populating each cube.
   
   
   
   

   TIP

   The highest-rated risk cube for the filter selections is highlighted with its risks displayed to the right as links for easy access.

3. To view the risks associated with any cube in the quadrant, click the cube.
   
   
   
   
4. The page refreshes with the selected cube highlighted and its risks displayed to the right.
   
   
   
   
5. Click a risk to open the Risk Info page.
   
   

Editing a Risk

To edit a risk accessed from the Risk Heatmap home page, complete the following steps:

1. Click a linked risk.
   
   
   
   

2. The Risk Info page displays.
   
   

   TIP

   This Risk Info page differs slightly from the Details page, which is accessed from clicking a risk System of Record | Risks. They display the same information, but in a different format with different editing options. For more information about the Details page, see Finding Risks by Name.

   
   
   
   

3. Hover over the three elipsis and select from one of the following:
   1. Edit risk - Opens the risk in an editable page.
   2. Create task - Opens a new task page.
   3. Get permalink - Copies the risk URL.

   4. Delete - Deletes the risk.
