What is a Control Assessment?

A Control Assessment is auto-created after the launch of an Audit from Program Setup.

Control Assessments are record types used by Control Assessors to centrally manage the evidence required to confirm the control’s operational efficiency in your organization.

Control Assessors are responsible for managing the Control Assessment to make it relevant to the Audit like: Modify title and description, due date, and manage the assigned Control Assessor/Evidence Provider for Evidence Requests.

Control Assessment Records are:

  • derived from the library control and are mapped to related Requirements

  • for Control Assessors to evaluate if a Program is meeting the legal and regulatory requirements defined in the chosen framework content managed within ZenComply.

Who is involved in Control Assessments?

The following users are involved in the Control Assessment Workflow:

  • Control Assessor

  • Program Manager

Control Assessment Workflow

Below is the workflow specific to Control Assessments in ZenComply: 

Draft

A Control Assessment record is in Draft status once the Audit is launched from Program setup. The status changes to In Progress once the Control Assessment is Activated.

In Progress

A Control Assessment that is under evaluation.

What am I Viewing?

Accessing the Control Assessments within the Audit program, which are either in Draft or In Progress, once Activated

The Audit status in the Audit Overview landing page will now prompt the user to “Go to control assessments” list in the blue box

The Control assessments may also be accessed from the Control assessments tab within the top header navigation bar
